Assistant Managing Editor Jamie Willey attended his hometown community college, Labette Community College, until he transferred to Kansas State University. He graduated from K-State with a bachelor of science degree in journalism and mass communications in December 1996. Willey served as an intern at the Sun in 1994 and was hired as a full-time reporter in March 1997. He was promoted to assistant managing editor in 2005. Willey primarily covers city government and business news for the Sun and also writes feature stories. He is responsible for editing, story selection and page design for inside pages. He also manages the newsroom in the absence of Managing Editor Ray Nolting and organizes special editions, including assigning, writing and editing stories and designing the pages for the editions. |
